
Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Tay is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Horwath First Trust. He is also an Independent Director of several public companies listed on the SGX Mainboard and Sesdaq. He is the Senior Advisor to the Government of Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province of the People's Republic of China. He also sits on several committees, including a sub-committee of the Singapore Institute of Directors, the Complaints and Disciplinary Panel – Public Accountants Oversight Committee and Standing Law Review Focus Group, both of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority.
He is currently also the President of the Automobile Association of Singapore and Vice President of the Singapore Productivity Association. He is also a recipient of the Service to Education Award and Community Service Medal and was conferred the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal) by the President of Singapore in 1990. In addition, he is a former member of the Resource Panel of the Government Parliamentary Committees for Home Affairs and Communications.
Mr Tay is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and the Taxation Institute of Australia. He is also a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia and a full member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He has a wide range of experience, from having worked in public accounting firms in the United Kingdom and Singapore, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and companies in commerce, industry and management consulting for a period stretching over 30 years.
